About Me
Hi, I'm Laurien (she/her), a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and a somatic psychotherapist, nurturing relational healing and facilitating the transformation of trauma. I’m also a mom, wife, and friend of dogs and people. I love being in nature, being by water, connecting with others, and I value times of solitude, play, and rest. The mountains of Colorado have been my home for twenty-two years.
I have been a body-centered therapist since 2004. Early in my career I supported individuals and groups as a licensed massage therapist, Zen Shiatsu practitioner, and Yoga instructor. I have worked in clinical and community mental health settings since 2018. Issues that I am adept in offering support include individual and relational anxiety and conflict, shame and disconnection, trust and betrayal issues, attachment and intergenerational trauma, codependency, grief, and loss. All that you are carrying is welcome. I offer a safe space where it’s okay to not feel okay. My therapy dog, Bee, loves people and offers her support too.
My approach is rooted in empathy, empowerment, and transformation. I believe our bodies are designed to heal on every level, including the healing of trauma in our nervous systems. I’m grateful for the guides who have supported me in my healing journey, and I engage in regular somatic therapy consultations to be able to stay present and sharp in this meaningful work.
My Approach: relational, down to earth, creative, nonjudgmental, calming, warm, supportive.
